COVID-19 – Indoor Arenas to Return to Riding Schools and Equestrian Centres

Indoor Arenas to return to Riding schools and equestrian centres.

Ravenhall are pleased to confirm the return of Indoor Arenas to Riding schools and equestrian centres for most of the UK. British Equestrian has reported it has had confirmation from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) that equestrian indoor arenas will be permitted for use from 4th July in England.

Riding/driving in covered arenas from 29 June in Scotland was approved by sportscotland. The use of indoor facilities in Northern Ireland has been permitted since 23 June.

Indoor equestrian facilities in Wales remain closed at present, but it is our advice for individual centres to contact their local license office for permission. Where these are judged to be covered outdoor spaces permission may be granted by the licensing authority on a case by case basis, as has been the case throughout the UK since the easing of lockdown restrictions.

We understand how the easing of this particular lockdown restriction will help yards and centres to return to a state of normality.

If you have any questions about insurance for riding schools, livery yards or equestrian centres, please call us on 03452163000
