Sadly due to the bombings on Easter Sunday, Sri Lanka is now on the “No-Go” list by the Foreign Office. They released a warning: “We advise against all but essential travel.”
On Sunday 21st April 359 people were killed which includes 8 Britons. Sri-Lanka currently has an estimated 8,000 British people on holiday.
If you are planning on travelling for leisure for a holiday then elements of your travel insurance may not stand, should a person choose to travel anyway. This doesn’t apply to anyone currently in Sri-Lanka.
Your first point of contact should be your tour operator or Travel Agent as soon as possible to discuss further.
The last time a country was placed on the “No-Go” list was Tunisia in 2015 after the two terrorist attacks.
