Ravenhall Risk Solutions Ltd value the insight and contribution from an apprentice and have successfully recruited several apprentice insurance brokers. Over the past 10 years, we have successfully trained and developed apprentices within our business and in turn, those apprentices have developed careers in the industry and with ourselves.

Working from our office in Leeds, we are looking for candidates either completing their GCSEs or A-Levels and are looking for the next step in their career. The ideal candidate will be someone who wants to develop a career in a vibrant and growing organisation, while working in one of the UK’s largest industries. You will have great communication and organisation skills, and be looking for an opportunity to thrive as part of a large team.

The role will lead to an NVQ level 3 in Insurance and also the Cert CII professional qualification from the Chartered Insurance Institute.

What will the apprentice be doing?

• Preparing renewal declarations as well as preparing and issuing renewal documents
• Setting up claims with insurers and requesting supporting information from clients
• Learning internal systems such as TAM, so you can create new clients
• Update and maintain data on TAM
• Speaking with insurers to obtain new business quotations and policy documents
• Learning the Pet Insurance and Horse Insurance markets so quotes can be obtained, issued and discussed with clients
• Sending and chasing proposal forms to clients
• Looking for new business opportunities via Google & social media
• Any further administrative support required by the team

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

Full on-the-job training and support will be provided to enable the successful applicant to undertake the full range of duties required of the role. All apprentices are required to complete and evidence 20% of the job learning whilst on their apprenticeship.

Our Insurance Practitioner Level 3 Standard Programme consists of the following:

• Insurance Practitioner Level 3 Standard.
• Functional Skills in Literacy and Numeracy Level 2.
• End-point Assessment conducted by an external provider (Portfolio, project and panel interview).
• The end-point assessment is designed to enable apprentices to demonstrate that they are fully conversant in the skills knowledge and behaviours expected of individuals at this level. It is designed to provide assessors with a holistic view of the apprentice, and to allow them to assess to what extent the apprentice meets or exceeds the apprenticeship standard.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

All previous apprentices have had the opportunity to develop their careers and continue their professional learning with Ravenhall Risk Solutions Ltd.
