The last week of the year has been a busy one, when many professions have been relaxing and unwinding the insurance industry and the team at Ravenhall have been as busy at any other time of the year including over the Christmas Bank Holiday weekend.
What have we been doing?
On Boxing day when the extent of Storm Eva was known, especially in the West Yorkshire & Lancashire areas, our team put into place a “widespread loss plan”, reserved for circumstances where we would expect to see lots of clients affected. This Plan identified clients in affected areas, and put plans into place to monitor the weather situation and contact clients to see if they required any assistance.
We opened an emergency contact line and our social media and communications team set about using our website and our social media feeds to ensure that the information about what to do to prepare for flood, in the event of flood and how to handle the aftermath of flood or storm damage. Ravenhall made themselves easily contactable and available for clients over the bank holiday weekend, our affected clients were in touch with us and we with them at this difficult time.
Our team was out and about over the Bank Holiday weekend, assisting clients and checking on premises identified in our widespread loss plan. We were also monitoring events further affield, affecting York, Leeds and Tadcaster.
We have worked with our insurer partners and their loss adjusting colleagues to ensure a swift response to reported claims. Many of whom have sent delegations of teams as well as setting upo temporary offices in badly affected locations.
We have kept advice and guidance up to date online and via social media, and kept in touch with all affected clients to guide them through the next stages of ensuring that their homes and livelihoods can be put back into the position that they were in before these terrible events took place.
